Not long after we were written up in the Philadelphia Weekly, my homeboy Richie got at me and said that he'd read the article and that he "had no idea you guys were a production team. I had always thought you guys were just DJs." [Buzzer sound] means "incorrect." So dude says to me he says "you guys should do some remixes for this album we're putting out." Uh, hell yeah doggie.

Richie is in this totally ridiculous band from Philly called Hail Social from Polyvinyl Records. Usually, when they're being described, it's as something of a modern Hall and Oates- a description somewhere in the neighborhood of awesome. They are putting together a remix album with various reworks, rerubs and dubs of their recent album Modern Love and Death. Granted, Pitchfork hated the OG album, but that just scored extra points for HS, as far as we were concerned. Other remixers include heavy hitters Cosmo Baker, Pink Skull, Sta, Eli Escobar and surely some others I've forgotten.

Anyway, the song we chose to remix is called "One U Love," a really catchy and melodic tune that we instantly took to. You can hear the original on their myspace page (as of this writing). It was a challenge to work with but we turned it pretty inside out into a a strange kind of hybrid between roller disco, new jack swing and Baltimore Club. Oh, and Hall and Oates. Will let you know when the album officially comes out, but we've been authorized to share the tracks. Enjoy!
